Rob Tracy, Republican Candidate for Rome Mayor, discusses issues concerning Rome, NY on the air with Bob & Rick in the Morning.
Rome’s population has been on a downward trend since the 1960s. According to Tracy, this is Rome’s underlying problem — the source of several monetary issues facing Rome. There are “fewer and fewer people paying for ever increasing costs to run the city,” Tracy says. “We have to attract people to our community.”
Tracy cites the city’s tax rates as one reason prospective residents are deterred. Rome’s taxes are the highest in Oneida County.
Tracy, an actor with the Chatham Theater Company, will face current Rome Mayor Joe Fusco in a GOP primary later this year.
