An arrest has been made in the case of a bank robbery which occurred in Rome. On Thursday, April 13, 2017. at about 2:30 pm, an unknown white male suspect entered the Adirondack Bank located at 1709 Black River Blvd. in Rome. He was armed with a black colored semi automatic handgun. He proceeded to jump over the teller counter and demand cash. The employees complied and the suspect fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash, running westbound towards the rear of the bank. He then entered a grey or charcoal colored Nissan four door sedan and was last seen driving westbound on West Chestnut St. On Saturday, April 15, 2017, Rome police detectives arrested 47 year old Paul C. Guarneri and charged him with Robbery in the 1st degree in connection with the bank robbery. Guarneri, who resides on the 400 block of Turin St. in Rome, was arraigned in Rome City court and is currently being held in the Oneida County Correctional Facility. ... See MoreSee Less
