Pelicans Forward Ryan Anderson is Cleared for Contact

NBA via Orlando Magic(NEW YORK) — After sustaining a neck injury in January that required cervical spine surgery, New Orleans Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson declared Wednesday he can play basketball again.

“I’m cleared for contact! After 8 months out, I can finally play again. Thank you God!,” Anderson tweeted.

The 26-year-old played in 22 games for the Pelicans last season, averaging 19.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and three 3-pointers a game.

Anderson will be ready for the Pelicans’ training camp, which begins in three weeks.

ESPN: DeJuan Blair Will Be Traded to Wizards

Christopher Trotman/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — The Dallas Mavericks will send forward DeJuan Blair to the Washington Wizards as part of a sign-and-trade, according to ESPN.

The 6-foot-7, 265 pound Blair will sign a three-year, $6 million contract, according to Yahoo! Sports.

In return for Blair, the Wizards will send one of their three trade exceptions to Dallas.

Blair, 25, played his first four NBA seasons in San Antonio before joining the Mavericks last season. During his career he has averaged 7.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

ESPN: Magic Agree to 4-Year Deal with F Channing Frye

NBA via Phoenix Suns(NEW YORK) — The Orlando Magic agreed to a four-year, $32 million contract with free-agent forward Channing Frye, according to ESPN.com’s Ramona Shelburne.

The 31-year-old Frye could have made $6.8 million next season if he accepted his player option with the Phoenix Suns. Instead Frye opted out, ending a five-year stint with Phoenix.

After missing all of the 2012-13 season due to an enlarged heart, Frye played in all 82 games for the Suns in 2013-14, averaging 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists while making 37 percent of his 3-point attempts (432).

ESPN: Randolph Agrees to 2-Year Extension with Grizzlies

Ronald Martinez/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Forward Zach Randolph agreed to two-year, $20 million extension with the Memphis Grizzlies Friday, according to ESPN.

The 6-foot-9, 253 pound Randolph picked up his $16.5 million option for next season, according to ESPN, meaning he is now signed through the 2016-2017 season.

The 32-year-old Randolph has played his last five seasons in Memphis. During that time the two-time All-Star has played in 339 games averaging 17 points and 11 rebounds per contest.
